The sims 2 resource downloaded items won't show up in game?

so i downloaded a few things like clothes hair styles and furniture of the sims resource and i only downloaded things that were compatible with the base game, when i install the things it shows me a list of the things im about to install and i click install, it says it was successfully installed but when i play the game the things don't show up, am i doing something wrong or what? please help me.

when you are in the game, do you have "custom content: on" in the options menu? If you don't then go into the game, turn custom content on and exit completely out of the game (because after u turn custom content on, the stuff will not appear in the game until you exit out of the game and restart it.) and go back into the game...custom content should show up nowThe sims 2 resource downloaded items won't show up in game?
make sure they are zipped to game.....you might want to use WinZip.
