In the sims resource,how can i download a mesh and what is a mesh?

i have already a mesh but in the game sims 2 its just a maxis hairstyle plizzz help me how can i download it correctly????????In the sims resource,how can i download a mesh and what is a mesh?
A mesh is very important when you are downloading hair and other items on the sims. A mesh is kind of like a pattern (sorry it is a sowing analogy), once you have it you can download other hairs and stuff (like with a dress you can get different fabrics but ultimately will give you the same style dress). Did you unzip the mesh and put it in the sims 2 downloads file? If you didn't make sure you have win zip or winrar, depending on what kind of download it is and unzip it. After that you will extract it into the sims 2 downloads folder which will be in your "my documents". If you already did all of this then maybe you downloaded the wrong mesh.
